Update to the NHSN IG Versions for AR Option Reporting
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) would like to propose moving to new Implementation Guide Versions for reporting criterion: § 170.315(f)(6) - Transmission to public health agencies — antimicrobial use and resistance reporting. To accommodate additional data elements, CDC has implemented updated versions for the reporting of Antimicrobial Resistance (AR) events (HL7 CDA® R2 Implementation Guide: Healthcare Associated Infection (HAI) Reports, Release 3 - US Realm, December 2020) and AR summary/denominator data (HL7 CDA® R2 Implementation Guide: Healthcare Associated Infection (HAI) Reports, Release 3, STU 4 - US Realm, March 2020). These versions can be used to report 2022 AR Option data into NHSN.
